Garden cats (often referred to as 'Barn Cats') are (mostly) outdoor cats that are either social but don't do well indoors, or are semi-social (can be pet, but not picked up) or feral (not domesticated at all, but recognize humans as a food source) that can live happily in your backyard or around your property (home or business) as long as it is safe from predators and far from large motorways. These kitties can offer rodent control, as well as companionship if you prefer to have outdoor cats only. Each garden cat is different and our garden cats are in long term foster homes so we know their personalities well and can help make a good match. In general they prefer to have another kitty friend and also some human affection. They always need a safe and warm enclosure to sleep in at night and food and water. As with a domesticated 'pet' cat, we ask that you make a lifetime commitment to these cats. They are not throw away animals, they were just never domesticated and would otherwise be euthanized if trapped or caught and brought to an open admission animal shelter because they cannot be put up for general adoption. We know from experience that they can make very happy companions to humans and other animals!

Amy Cat is 3 years old and semi social.
She likes being petted and following her human everywhere around the property but scares easily and will run if approached too fast. Her BFF is Senor Gato and they make a great duo! Like all cats, Amy is a creature of habit and is always around when it’s dinner time and to be put into her safe enclosure at night with a heating pad and soft bed. She gets along great with cats and dogs . |
Senor Gato Supremo as he is affectionately called is 3 years old and started out his life indoors but now lives on a ranch with several other kitties. He is basically a domesticated cat and is very friendly with humans and loves to be petted. He gets along great with dogs too. Senor Gato knows when it's time for dinner and is right there waiting for food and to be put in his safe enclosure at night with a heating pad and soft doggie bed. He is OK with coming into the house for short periods of time and could eventually possibly be indoor/outdoor.
